Janice and Chris at Angel Orensanz Foundation

Angel Orensanz Foundation for the Arts is a former synagogue on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, it's absolutely stunning at every angle. You may already know that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick were married here. It's definitely a photographic challenge to shoot at Angel Orensanz, considering the dark wood and high ceilings with little if no daylight coming through the stained glass windows. However the lighting designers who work for AO are incredible. Notice the beautiful color-scrolling theatrical lighting inside of it...When I shoot there, I use this colored light as ambient, and some strobes that I bring as fill-light. The colors changed from orange to red to yellow to blue... We started off the day photographing Janice in her changing room downstairs at AO. We took a walk around the Lower East Side after the ceremony, and then shot formal portraits on the altar. Cocktail hour was upstairs on the balcony overlooking the venue. It was a great party, lots of dancing and tons of fun. Here were some of their vendors... Caterer: Season's Distinctive Catering (they did the cake too) Dress designer: Amy Michelson Planner: Christine Viola: Exquisite Affairs Productions DJ: Dave Swirsky, Expressway Music Videographer: Movements Film Production by Shar Adrias Thanks to my intern Coree Evans for helping me make these grids!
